Comrade Miskow plays the stock market. He believes that the turtle can bring good luck and puts it in front of the stairs in the morning. When it climbs up, the value of the stock increases. If the animal, on the contrary, begins to descend, the value decreases. When the turtle hides in its shell, the price remains the same.

A friend decides to give Miskow a small turtle as a gift. The hero brings the gift home and shows the children, but they don’t like the turtle. The father tells them that they can play with it and shows them how to do it. The children make fun of the animal, which the hero does not like at all.

Miskow had a beautiful wife. He was afraid that she would want to divorce him. The woman comes home, sees the turtle, and puts him before a choice. If he doesn’t get rid of the animal, she will leave for her mother.

In order not to lose his wife, the hero takes the turtle to the store where it was purchased, but it turns out to be closed. The man realizes that the animal was just a ridiculous excuse for a divorce, takes pity on it and decides to keep it.
