A neighboring prince, Obaldu, from Pontia, arrives in Paflagonia. King Hrabus, father of Princess Angelica, took the throne in place of the rightful heir, Prince Perecoril.

Giglio was brought up at court. He had a fairy ring that made the wearer beautiful. He gave the ring to Angelica, but she threw it away.

Countess Spuskunet finds the ring and convinces Perecorile to marry her. The ring finds its way to Angelica’s maid Betsinda. The King and the two princes fall in love with her, and Betsinda is driven from the palace.

Obalda is to be executed, but Angelica saves him and marries him. Betsinda arrives in Pontia and discovers that she is Princess Rosalba. The King of Pontia wants to throw her to the lions, but Perecorile goes at the head of an army to rescue her. The lions do not want to eat Rosalba and take her to Perekoril.

The Fairy Ring reaches Obald. The Countess reminds Perekoril of his promise. He is forced to take her to church, but the fairy transforms the door hammer into the Countess´ disappeared husband. Perecorile and Rosalba marry.
