Recently, Ole announced that he would soon be married to his beloved Gulda. Before the church bell has rung, Ole decides to set sail. Gulda, on the other hand, stays at the village of Daal and waits for her husband.

Gulda recently received a letter from her husband. In the message, the sailor tells how he obtained riches along the way. The resulting treasure is enough for a lavish wedding. When the girl learns of this, she immediately begins to prepare for a speedy marriage. Preparation for the wedding goes hand in hand with empathy for the groom.

The wedding was set for May 25. The deadline approaches, but Ole never returns. At this point, the sailor’s brother, Joel, already begins to worry. The situation begins to escalate after the appearance of a man named Sangonist. The Sangonist’s meeting with Gulda and Joelle takes place at Mrs. Hansen’s inn. The visitor is exploring knowledge.

When Phru learned the visitor’s name, she immediately ripped up the account she was about to give him.

To appease Gouvelda, Joelle goes with her to Rückanfors Falls.
