Harry Luxton, a young hustler, has brought a young rich wife named Louise to his village from abroad. Before his arrival, Harry had rebuilt the large estate and fired the old caretakers. The old caretaker woman began to threaten her former master. One day the young wife falls off her horse and dies. This is where the doctor’s story ends.

Miss Marple, using her deductive powers, quickly deduces the murderer. The accident was staged by Harry himself, who wanted to get Louisa’s money and marry Dr. Haydock’s niece, Clarice. With a shot from a gun, the young husband frightened the horse, which jumped up and threw the girl. And the outlaw paid off the old caretaker to divert suspicion from himself.
