After learning that the Prussian officers have decided to kidnap Napoleon, the brigadier disguises himself as the Emperor. Failing to notice the switch, the officers rush in pursuit of the brigadier.

Before the battle of Waterloo, Napoleon sends Brigadier Gerard to give an important order to Marshal Gruschi. The brigadier’s horse is killed and he hides in a tavern where English and Prussian officers are gathered.

He sees that the Prussian regiments are moving toward Waterloo. But most importantly, Gerard learns the enemy’s plans to capture Napoleon.

Overcoming the danger, Gerard breaks through the Prussian troops. When he arrives, he sees that the French are defeated. Napoleon is guarded only by a handful of his entourage.

The brigadier informs the Emperor of the intentions of the Prussian officers and, noticing their arrival, changes into the Emperor’s clothes. Gerard mounts Napoleon’s horse and rides away from the Prussians to give the Emperor time to leave.

The Prussian officers, not noticing the switch, rush off in pursuit of Gerard. With great difficulty he escapes them. Napoleon escapes safely.
