Siva is the god of vengeance in Slavic mythology. Together with the goddess Leta Zhivaya, he spills living water over the fields. Siva ensures the fertility of the land. But this god is very touchy.

When people stopped bringing him sacrifices, he became angry and sent plagues on all the animals, and dragon Smoku ordered to burn all the fields. The people begged God for such a punishment. The goddess Durna, who helped Siva in his good deeds, offered him a sacrifice and said that Koschei was to blame for everything — he had clouded people’s minds.

Toga Siva went to the castle of Koschei on Mount Hvangure. He began to fight with the Black Serpent, and he, defeated, left the sacred mountain, and Siva took it. Having calmed down, the god dug a well, with water from which he irrigated the fields, and the people again made sacrifices to him.

When this was no longer done in Constantinople, the vengeful god sent a black serpent into the city, which ate the fields, livestock and people. The gods themselves decided whom to sacrifice to Siva, and the lot was cast on Tsarevna Yarina. She begged the god, and he sent Yarila to help her. Struck by the young man’s courage, Svia stopped taking revenge on the people.
