Things have not been going well for factory chain owner Robert Moore lately. The business that the man has built over a long period of time is in danger of closing. The reason for this is the Luddite rebellion that has swept across the United Kingdom. The Luddites were a group of people who prevented the introduction of machinery in factories, including in the most radical ways, leading to the suspension of factories under Robert’s control.

But in addition to business problems, Robert has personal problems as well. In order to profit from his business, the industrialist decides to marry a rich heiress, the wayward aristocrat Shirley Kildare.
