The Philistines blind and capture Samson. One feast day, after all the work was done, Samson went out into the fresh air to rest. Outside he meets his father and his buddies. On Thanksgiving Day to Dagon, who delivered Samson from the Philistines, his loved ones wanted to ransom the prisoner from them.

The father goes to the Philistine rulers to negotiate a ransom. In his absence, various people came to see the prisoner, including the minister of the Temple of Dagon. The latter wants Samson to demonstrate his strength at a feast before the assembled townsfolk.

Samson does not wish to comply with his request. The attendant then begins to persuade and threaten him, and the hero agrees. Samson’s father returns, confident that his son will soon be freed. A messenger comes to the men. He tells them that the Philistines are planning to kill Samson and his father.
