1 minute

Johnny Gray is framed and given a prison sentence. When he got out of jail, he immediately went to his friend Peter Ken’s house. At the house he saw wedding preparations. Peter’s daughter Mary was getting married.

Johnny Gray is wholeheartedly in love with Mary. But it is not only the fact that she is marrying another man that depresses him. He is alarmed by the name of the groom.

Surrounded by criminal circles, Johnny knows for a fact that Jeffrey Floyd, despite his elegant manners, is a crook and a swindler and, moreover, the son of Grey’s sworn enemy Legg.

Gray is unable to state this openly. He realizes that Geoffrey is marrying the girl with some sort of calculation. Perhaps Mary is in danger. And Grey makes a desperate attempt.

He turns to the famous detective (the main character in almost all of E. Wallace’s detectives) Mr. Reeder. After various adventures he uncovers Mary’s husband’s scam and saves her from death.
