During the ball, the organizer decided to begin courting the Countess Ceprano, who had come to the event. Attempts to attract the Countess’ attention could not go unnoticed by her husband, who is already experiencing feelings of jealousy.

This is noticed by the jester Rigoletto. Seeing the seething nobleman, the jester begins to mock the Count. To heighten the tension, Rigoletto advises the organiser to kidnap the noblewoman under cover of night.

Count Ceprano finally loses his temper and already vows revenge on Rigoletto for what has happened.

The final cheerful mood of the event evaporates with the appearance of Count Monterone, who demands that Rigoletto return his daughter to him immediately. The appearance of a new guest could not go unnoticed by the clown.
