Eleven-year-old Polianna goes to live with her aunt Polly. The heroine was left early without a mother, and recently lost her father. She had no inheritance, and among her relatives only her aunt remained.

Her aunt was very wealthy, while her niece was penniless. Polyanna, however, had a good character and could see the good in everything. Aunt Polly, on the contrary, was a severe and reserved person, who would not allow herself any liberties. She was not happy about the girl’s arrival, as she was too noisy.

Pollyanna rejoices in her new little room in the attic. Gradually the whole small town is imbued with her cheerfulness and learns to see the good. After a while, her aunt becomes attached to her niece. She lets her take in a cat and a dog. The girl becomes popular and has many friends.

One day, the heroine gets hit by a car. As a result, she can never walk again. The only hope for the girl’s recovery is the doctor in love with her aunt.
