On the rocky shore of a city in Ethiopia, Perseus discovered a girl chained to a rock. It turned out that she was Princess Andromeda.

Her mother Cassiopeia had unintentionally angered the sea nymphs and became proud of her beauty. The divinities complained to Poseidon, who punished the Ethiopian rulers and sent a monster to devastate their country.

The king of Qephaeus consulted the oracle of Zeus. The seer said that the punishment would only end when the ruler offered his daughter as a sacrifice. These things Kefey did not want to do as the gods wished, but the gigantic fish, swimming ashore every day, was wiping out the whole population.

Then the king chained Andromeda to a rock and left her to await her fate. But the son of Zeus, Perseus, who fell in love with the girl from the first moments, volunteered to fight the sea monster. On his winged sandals he flew up to the terrifying fish and plunged the sword forged by Hephaestus into it. Overjoyed at the miraculous deliverance from the monster, the king gave Andromeda in marriage to Perseus.
