A florist with an infant child was abandoned by her husband. He had left the family several times before. But this time her husband left her for another woman.

The flower girl saw him with this lady, full, pretty and well dressed. The girl is very hurt, she hates her husband for his meanness.

She herself is exhausted by poverty, hard work, and caring for an infant. To look more attractive, the girl buys her only decent suit from a pawnshop. She tries to catch the eye of her betrayer and rival.

The florist remembers the kind nobleman who bought a bouquet from her and paid more. The girl goes to him and tells him how her husband left her. The man gives the girl a gold coin.

The flower girl comes home. Suddenly the husband returns, quietly undresses and lies down on the floor. The flower girl sees that he is ragged and hungry. She pities him and forgives him.
