Opera in four acts. De Grieux is finishing his philosophical studies. In the street the young man meets a sad stranger, who turns out to be Manon. Her parents wanted to send her to a convent because she was inclined to pleasure.

The hero saves the girl. De Grieux offers her his hand and heart. The couple flees to Paris, but they forget about the wedding. They live beautifully in sin. The hero deceives his parents, who do not know that he has dropped out.

De Grieux discovers that Manon is cheating on him with a neighbor. He betrays his location to his father, and the young man is taken away by servants. They take the hero home, where he is held for about a year. On the advice of a friend, de Grieux enrolls in the theological faculty and returns to Paris.

A year later he meets Manon, she apologizes and they reconcile. The girl takes her lover’s money and runs away with de Grieux. Twice the lovers end up in prison, from which de Grieux is rescued by his parents.

Manon is sent into exile. The hero follows her. There they marry, but are forced to flee. As a result, Lescaut falls ill and dies.
