Captain Nemo was formerly known by another name, Dakkar, descended from a family of Budelkhand aristocrats. He became one of the leaders of the Sepoy Rebellion in the 1850s, aimed at expelling British forces from India, which had been conquered by the British crown and worked in the interests of Foggy Albion.

British forces, however, broke resistance and began a crackdown on the rebels. The British hunted for Dakkar and were willing to pay huge sums of money to anyone who would represent him before British justice.

Dakkar, however, managed to avoid being killed by the British bayonet. But from that moment on the Indian prince began life under a new name — Nemo. After enlisting in the naval service, he rose to the rank of captain. The captain also took part in the destruction of an unknown object in the place of a submarine commander.

The captain was also noted for helping the colonists, trying not to get in their faces. He took part in Professor Mabuloff’s voyage and assisted Kerguelen Jorling in his search for his brother.
