Times are tough for Zudechkis. To improve his financial situation, he goes to Ben Crick and offers to organize a raid. However, his distrust of the king plays a cruel trick on Zudechkis.

Zudechkis, the broker, feels unhappy about the competition. One of the competitors was the Justice Co-op shop, run by six companions.

Zudechkis goes to Ben Creech, whom everyone called the king, and offers to raid Justice on Saturday. Benya agrees. The cunning Jew doesn’t trust Creech, so he goes to another raider, Kolya Stieff. Kolya begins to prepare a raid.

Saturday. Kolya Stieff is already loading goods. A cart pulls up to the shop. Kolya and his comrades think the police have arrived. They line up and prepare their revolvers. However, it was the King, who was first mistaken for a bailiff.

Crick snatches the revolver from Stief and says, «In Odessa they will say: the King was flattered by his comrade’s earnings.» The king cried. The raiders shook hands. They realized that Tsudechkis was to blame for what had happened.

The king finds Zudechkis. Crick wants to kill him, but the broker’s wife asks him not to. Benya beats Tsudechkis badly.
