1 minute

Brigadier Gerard is summoned by Napoleon and entrusted with an important task as the regiment’s best swordsman. The officer must accompany the emperor at night to a secret meeting. If Napoleon orders him to fight, those present must not be left alive.

At the appointed time Gerard arrives at the meeting. He silently accompanies the emperor. Two men emerge from the forest and approach Napoleon. One of them tries to attack the emperor, but Gerard prevents him from doing so. But at that moment the second stabbed Napoleon.

Gerard immediately killed one of the bandits and rushed after the second. He overtook and killed him.

When Gerard returns to the rendezvous point, he sees Napoleon alive. It turns out that a servant dressed as the Emperor had been killed. At the meeting were members of the Brothers of Ajaccio, of which Napoleon had been a member in his youth. The emperor had violated the strict laws of the brotherhood and was to be killed.
