A demon falls in love with the beautiful Tamara. He appears to her as a handsome man, soothes the girl and promises to visit her every night.

The bored Demon, a former cherub rejected by the Lord, flies not far from the Aragva River. He sees the house of the old man Gudal, who has arranged a feast to celebrate the wedding of his daughter, the beautiful Tamara.

Tamara has never been denied anything since she was a child, but if she married, she would find herself in an unenviable position in a family she has never known. The demon notices the girl and falls in love with her. Tamara’s betrothed travels to the feast, leading a caravan of camels loaded with gifts. The caravan is attacked by brigands, who rob and kill the bridegroom and his friends.

The horse arrives at the feast, along with its murdered rider. Tamara weeps bitterly. Suddenly she hears a voice that soothes her and promises to visit her every night. In the morning, the Demon appears to her as a handsome young man.

Tamara goes to a monastery to get rid of the obsession, but it does not help. The Demon confesses his love for her. He succeeds in obtaining a reciprocal confession from the girl and kisses her. But the deadly poison of his kiss instantly kills Tamara.
