1 minute

The cheerful and daring Gascon Cyrano de Bergerac is in love with his cousin, the witty beauty Roxanne, but is afraid to confess his love to her because of his big nose.

One day Cyrano receives a note from Roxane asking to meet her. The Gascon flies on the wings of love. On the way he helps his friend, the poet Ligner, fight off assassins.

But at the meeting, Roxane confesses that she is in love with Christian de Nevillelet and asks her cousin to protect him. The Gascon agrees. At Christian’s request, he helps write letters to Roxane.

Reading the rapturous lines, the girl falls even more in love with Christian. But soon her lover dies from an enemy bullet. Cyrano does not have time to confess that it was he who wrote the letters — the girl goes to a convent.

Many years pass. Still in love, Cyrano visits Roxanne every day. But one day a log falls on him. Mortally wounded, he goes to Roxane and reads from memory one of Christian’s letters. Only now does Roxanne understand who the author of the letters was. The hero dies.
