Adam and Eve had two sons, Abel and Cain. The first was engaged in herding and the second in farming. Both were mindful of the fact that God was watching their every move personally.

One day both brothers decided to sacrifice to God the fruit of the land. Cain had some grown fruit, while Abel offered his best lamb as a sacrifice to God. God was more pleased with Abel’s offering. Cain, on the other hand, was upset by this development, which led to the farmer’s hatred of his own brother.

The appearance of hatred for Abel was also noticed by God. The Almighty decided to advise Cain to resist all evil thoughts which are associated with the incitement of negative feelings. However, feelings of jealousy and humiliation drowned out the voice of God trying to guide Cain to a righteous path.

Cain decided to advise Abel to take a walk in a nearby field. There Cain ambushed his brother and killed him. After the atrocity, God decided to speak to Cain to learn about Abel’s fate.
