1 minute

The murderer Karp Petrovich Bukoyomov sits in a cell with other prisoners. He treats them contemptuously. The only one with whom he engages in conversation is one of the prisoners, nicknamed Limp. He has escaped from prison several times.

Khromoy asks Bukoyomov whether he remembers the people he killed. Does he feel pity for those whom he deprived of life?

Karp Petrovich says that he knows no pity, because he has always been treated cruelly. When he was young, his father brutally beat his mother in front of his son. Eventually he beat her to death. And Karp Petrovich himself was severely beaten since childhood.

Bukoyomov recalls only an affectionate puppy who loved Karp Petrovich. The small and naughty dog even slept next to Bukoyomov. But he does not remember the faces of the people he killed at all.
