Scylla was a monster that was characterized by having 12 paws and 6 heads, which in turn rested on very long and yet flexible necks. Its mouth was filled with very sharp dental units, which were placed in three rows. The creature lived in a cave that was in the middle of a high cliff that stood at the edge of a narrow strait. It regularly fished out not only sea animals, but humans as well.

Charybdis was a whirlpool in which, once caught, the ship’s crew had no chance of getting out alive.

One day Odysseus and his group were passing through the above-mentioned section of the sea. The character of ancient Greek myths considered that Charybdis would destroy everyone at all, while Scylla could capture only 6 people at a time. The man decided to move closer to Scylla. That through its heads took some of the crew, which allowed the others to buy time and swim through the dangerous section.
