Once upon a time there was a silly king who decided that only he could wield magic in his kingdom. He declared a hunt for wizards and witches. All wizards fled the country, and a cunning charlatan came to teach the foolish king magic, who fooled the ruler with a few tricks.

Having become the chief wizard, the trickster demands gold and gems for magical ingredients. The charlatan would have fooled the foolish ruler for a long time if not for Jester, the King’s old washerwoman.

Shutiha turned out to be a real sorceress and began to laugh at the charlatan’s «sorcery». He threatened the cheeky woman that he would turn her over to the Hunters and ordered her to play along with the King by performing magic for him.

The next day, the king gathered his courtiers to show them his magical powers. The Jester first performed several miracles in the king’s stead. But when the old woman failed to revive the dog, the charlatan claimed that she was the one who prevented the king from witchcraft.

In the end, Shutiha managed to outwit everyone and bring the wretched instructor out in the open.
