The protagonist of the novel is a successful journalist Linda, who lives in Geneva. Linda is 31 years old and has a wonderful family — two children and a loving husband. But the woman feels unhappy, she lacks movement, passion, romance in life.

One day Linda goes for an interview. Her interlocutor turns out to be a former classmate and first love Jacob. The man has become a successful politician, and Linda suddenly awakens what she has been missing for so long — passion.

An ordinary interview ended with mad sex, which fundamentally changed her life. Linda rushed headlong into a new relationship. But for Jacob, she is only a mistress, he would never leave his oppressive wife. Adultery also brings Linda only short-term satisfaction.

The husband guesses what is going on, but hopes that his wife will «get over it.» He gives his wife one last chance by offering her a trip. On the trip, Linda realizes that happiness was so close. Now she will have everything perfect and the man she loves by her side.
