Ober-conductor Stychkin has a matchmaker and matchmaker Lyubov Grigorievna sitting at his place.

A fifty-two-year-old man tells the woman that he has decided to get married. He says that he does not need a beautiful and intelligent girl. It is better if she is not too smart, then she will idolize her husband.

In addition, the future wife should not be rich, he does not want to live off his wife, because Stychkin has a good salary and has savings. But he does not want a poor woman either.
