The studio is shooting a film about love directed by Nechaev. Fekin has not found the actors who are supposed to kiss in the frame. He chooses a couple from the extras, but they refuse to comply.

The studio is shooting a film about love, directed by Nechaev. An actor is standing in front of the camera, and in the distance there is a crowd: a blonde and an old man. The director is talking to the leader of a jazz trio, who plays the trumpet. The other two members, the drummer and the guitarist, are sitting nearby and discussing something.

The percussionist tells us that he used to work as an animal trainer. While filming a tiger, it chewed off the tamer’s ear, after which the man began to dream about it at night. A trumpeter and a director approach the characters. The musician introduces him to the drummer Sidoruk and the guitarist Zhgundi.

The director notices that the old man’s beard is crookedly glued on. He asks his assistant to tear it off, but when she tries to do so it turns out that the beard is real.

Nechaev tells the trio to play and praises Zhgundi for his improvisation. Because of Fekin’s oversight, problems arise during the filming. He needs to find a young couple to make out in the frame. Fekin chooses two young men from the extras, but they refuse to follow his instructions.
