He finds Gryabov at the river. He is fishing with his governess. The Prince asks the landowner for a drink, but Gryabov feels sorry to give up fishing. He has not caught anything since the morning. The landlord talks about the governess, speaking very rudely.

Fathers reprimands him and feels uncomfortable in front of the woman. Gryabov explains that the woman is English, she does not speak Russian and does not understand anything.

Suddenly the landlord’s fishing line clings to a stone. The man has to undress and climb into the water to untangle it. At first he tries to tell the Englishwoman to move away or turn away.

But seeing that the woman understands nothing, he strips naked and goes into the water. The fathers laugh and the governess smiles contemptuously.
